Las Vegas Physician, Alban I. Miller, Jr., M.D.'sOn March 19, 1999, the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners filed a Complaint against Las Vegas physician, Alban I. Miller, Jr., M.D. charging him with performing an operation on a patient in such a manner and under such circumstances and conditions as to constitute gross malpractice. Dr. Miller entered into a Stipulation for Settlement which was approved by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners on June 5, 1999. The board ordered that Dr. Miller's license to practice medicine in the state of Nevada be revoked, the revocation stayed, and he be placed on probation for a term of three years subject to his payment of all costs incurred in the investigation and hearing of $3,177.00, completion of an additional twenty hours of continuing medical education in the area of conscious and deep conscious sedation, compliance with all provisions of the Nevada Medical Practice Act during probation, and that he be precluded from performing any surgical procedure which involves conscious and/or deep conscious sedation in his office or at any location other than a hospital setting or in a clinic approved by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners and that any surgical procedure he performs be under the supervision of an anesthesiologist.
