The Investigative Committee filed
a formal Complaint against Dr. Devia alleging one count of
failure to use reasonable care, skill or knowledge ordinarily used under
similar circumstances in providing care or treatment to a patient, a
violation of NRS 630.301(4). |

On June 3, 2005, the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners entered
a Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law Order whereby Dr. Devia was found guilty
of failure to use the reasonable care, skill or knowledge ordinarily used under
similar circumstances in the treatment of a patient. Dr .Devia was ordered to
pay $8,176.72 for administrative fees due within ninety (90) days, and a
$5,000.00 fine to be paid within six (6) months of the Order dated 11 July 2005.
Dr. Devia was also ordered to complete twenty (20) continuing medical education
to be submitted within one (1) year of the Order dated 11 July 2005. |
