FORMAL DISCIPLINARY ACTION TAKEN BY THE NEVADA STATE BOARD OF MEDICAL EXAMINERS: ********************************************************************* FORMAL COMPLAINT DECEMBER 12, 2002 The Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners filed a formal complaint against Dr. Watson, alleging that he is in violation of NRS 630.3065(2)(a) for his failure to appear before the Board on September 6, 2002 and December 6, 2002. Copies: Complaint - 4 pages ********************************************************************* FINDINGS OF FACT, CONCLUSIONS OF LAW AND ORDER JUNE 24, 2003 The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners found Dr. Watson violated the provisions of NRS 630.3065(2)(a) and ordered he be issued a Public Reprimand; pay a fine of $5000.00; complete two hours of continuing medical education in ethics in addition to the required units for license renewal; and pay all costs incurred by the Board in these disciplinary proceedings in the amount of $6,055.26. Respondent shall comply with this Order within 60 days of the effective date of this Order. Copies: Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law, and Order - 6 pages ********************************************************************* FORMAL COMPLAINT October 11, 2005 The Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners filed a formal complaint against Dr. Robert Watson (Respondent) on October 11, 2005 for substandard medical care rendered to a fifty-one year old male patient, as per Count I (violation of NRS 630.301(4)). Respondent violated Section 630.301 of the Nevada Revised Statutes by failing to provide reasonable care, skill, or knowledge ordinarily used under similar circumstances. tw Copies of Complaint: 3 Pages ********************************************************************* FINDINGS OF FACT, CONCLUSIONS OF LAW AND ORDER September 15, 2006 On September 15, 2006, the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners found Robert Watson, M.D., guilty of failure to use the reasonable care, skill or knowledge ordinarily used under similar circumstances in the treatment of a fifty-one year old male patient, and said conduct constitutes malpractice, a violation of the provisions of NRS 630.301(4). Dr. Watson was ordered to immediately pay the Board $6,560.73 for administrative fees and was placed on probation for a period of six (6) months; commencing on September 15, 2006. During this 6-month period of probation, all medical files of the Respondent shall be reviewed by the Board, or it's designatee.
