Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners Summarily Suspends
a Physician's License to Practice Medicine in the State of Nevada

At an emergency telephone conference call meeting of the board held on April 1, 2002, the board summarily suspended a physician's license to practice medicine:

Curtis B. De Friez, M.D.

The board summarily suspended the license to practice medicine of Curtis B. De Friez, M.D., of Carson City, on April 1, 2002, as the board found that the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the state of Nevada imperatively required the emergency suspension based on the Complaint filed against him, in which it is alleged that:  1) Count One - he practiced medicine while under the influence of controlled substances, a violation of NRS 630.306(1) and 2) Count Two - his continuing practice of medicine, and his ability to practice medicine, during the pendency of the time necessary for a hearing on the Complaint, would endanger the health, safety, and welfare of his patients, requiring emergency action and the summary suspension of his license.
