A Settlement, Waiver and Consent
Agreement was approved and accepted by the Nevada State Board of Medical
Examiners, whereby the Board entered an order finding that Dr. Inocencio's
medical treatment of the patients in the underlying complaint was deficient and
in violation of the standards of practice established in NAC 630.230(1)(l), and
as a result, he was guilty of two violations of NRS 630.306(2)(b), and
ordering that he receive a public reprimand, pay a fine of $1,500, that he
complete 10 hours of continuing medical education on the subject of controlled
substance prescribing and that he pay the costs of investigation and prosecution
of the matter, the fine and costs payable within 120 days of the Board's
acceptance and approval of the Settlement Agreement. |

The Investigative Committee of
the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners filed a formal Complaint against
Dr. Inocencio, charging him with two violations of NRS 630.301(4), for
failing to use reasonable care, skill, or knowledge ordinarily used under
similar circumstances when he prescribed controlled substances for Patient A
and B, and two violations of NAC 630.230(1)(1), for engaging in the practice
of writing prescriptions for controlled substances to Patients A & B in a
manner that deviated from the guidelines set forth in the Model
Guidelines for the Use of Controlled Substances for the Treatment of Pain. |
