Upon a review of the evidence presented to it in the matter, the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners found that Dr. Edwards violated NRS 630.3065(2)(a), as set forth in the Complaint.  The Board ordered that Dr. Edwards receive a public reprimand, pay a fine of $4,000, and reimburse the Board the reasonable costs and expenses incurred in the investigation and prosecution of the case, the fine and costs payable within 90 days the filing of the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law and Order.

The Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners filed a formal complaint against Dr. Edwards, charging him with a violation of NRS 630.3065(2)(a), for willful failure to comply with a regulation, subpoena or order of the Board or a committee designated by the Board to investigate a complaint against a physician, in that Dr. Edwards failed to comply with the Order of the Investigative Committee served on May 12, 2010, when he failed to provide either records or a response as ordered. Dr. Edwards failed to comply with the Order of the Investigative Committee served upon him on August 5, 2010 and on his attorney on August 4, 2010, when he failed to appear before the Investigative Committee on August 27, 2010.
