The Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners filed a formal complaint against Dr. Anthony for his license being suspended by the state of Utah in August 2001, a violation of NRS 630.301(3), for failing to report the suspension of his license to practice medicine in another jurisdiction within 30 days, a violation of NRS 630.306(11), and for . renewing his license to practice medicine by means of bribery, fraud, or misrepresentation or by any false, misleading, inaccurate or incomplete statement, a violation of NRS 630.304(1).

A Settlement, Waiver and Consent Agreement was approved and accepted by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners, whereby the Board entered an order finding that Dr. Anthony failed to report to the Nevada Board the suspension of his medical privileges in Utah within 30 days, a violation of NRS 630.306(11), and that he renewed an application to practice medicine with an inaccurate or incomplete statement, a violation of NRS 630.304(1). The Board suspended Dr. Anthony’s license to practice medicine in Nevada for 12 months, staying the suspension on the condition that Dr. Anthony remain in compliance with, and satisfactorily complete, his probationary period in Utah. If he returns to Nevada to practice medicine during the remainder of his probationary period in Utah , additional conditions, as enumerated in the Settlement Agreement, shall be imposed upon him until expiration of that probationary period. Dr. Anthony was also ordered to reimburse the Board’s costs and expenses incurred in the investigation and prosecution of the case against him, payable within 60 days of acceptance, adoption and approval of the Settlement Agreement by the Board, whereby, Dr. Anthony, by not contesting the charges set forth in the complaint pursuant to NRS 630.306(11) and NRS 630.304(1), thereby admitted to the violation, and as a penalty shall complete all terms set forth in the Order. It was furthered Ordered that Layfe Anthony, M.D., pay $1,220.06 for administrative fees due within sixty (60) days of this Order dated September 27, 2006. Further, Count I was dismissed.

The Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners filed a formal complaint against Dr. Anthony charging him with a violation of Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 630.301(3) due to revocation of his license to practice medicine by the state of Utah on January 28, 2009.

Upon a review of the evidence presented to it in the matter, the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners found that Dr. Anthony violated NRS 630.301(3) as alleged in Count I of the Complaint when his license to practice medicine was revoked by the state of Utah in January 2009.  Based on the foregoing, the Board ordered that Dr. Anthony's license to practice medicine in Nevada be revoked and that he reimburse the Board the reasonable costs and expenses incurred in the investigation and prosecution of the case in the amount of $2,822.83, within 90 days the filing of the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law and Order.
