On 29 January 2003, the Investigative Committee of theBoard of Medical Examiners filed a
formal Complaint against Dr. Stein alleging Two Counts of violation of NRS 630:
Count One: violation of NRS 630.304 (1) attempting to obtain a license to practice medicine
by fraud or misrepresentation or by false, misleading, inaccurate or incomplete statement.
Count Two: violation of NRS 630.306(2)(a) engaging in conduct intended to deceive.
Nevada action is based on action taken against Dr. Stein in the state of New York..

On 7 April 2003, the Board of Medical Examiners found Dr. Stein guilty of Two Counts
of violation of NRS 630. Count One: violation of NRS 630.304 (1) attempting to obtain a
license to practice medicine by fraud or misrepresentation or by false, misleading,
inaccurate or incomplete statement. Count Two: violation of NRS 630.306(2)
(a) engaging in conduct intended to deceive. The Board ORDERED: 1.) Dr. Stein shall
be issued a public reprimand; 2.) pay a fine of $2,000.00 for EACH count, 3.) Dr. Stein
shall complete six units of Continuing Medical Education in Ethics, as approved by the
Board Secretary within one year of this Order, and 4.) Dr. Stein shall pay all costs
incurred by the Board in these disciplinary proceedings in the amount of $2,819.02.
