NOVEMBER 16, 1998
The Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of
Medical Examiners filed a formal complaint against Dr. Franco
alleging his inability to practice medicine with reasonable skill
and safety because of illness, mental or physical condition, or
use of alcohol, drugs, narcotics, or other substances, and his
habitual intoxication from alcohol or dependency on controlled
substances, engaging in conduct which is intended to deceive.
It is also alleged that he tried to acquire controlled substances
from a pharmace or other source by misrepresentation, fraud, or
deception, and that he was writing prescriptions for controlled
substances without an examination.
FEBRUARY 10, 1999
Dr. Franco voluntarily surrendered his license to practice medicine
in the state of Nevada while under investigation.
FEBRUARY 10, 1999
Dr. Franco entered into a stipulation for settlement with the
Board and it was ordered that he voluntarily surrender his license
to practice medicine in the state of Nevada while under
investigation, and that he pay $5,688.95 to the board for the
investigative costs.
MARCH 15, 1999
The Board accepted Dr. Franco's Voluntary Surrender and the
Stipulation for Settlement.
