CURTIS BAZEMORE, M.D.

The Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners filed a formal complaint against Curtis Bazemore, M.D. on July 25, 2006, for alleged substandard medical care rendered to a forty year old female patient, as per Count I (violation of NRS 630.301(4)). Dr. Bazemore allegedly violated Section 630.301 of the Nevada Revised Statutes by failing to provide reasonable care, skill, or knowledge ordinarily used under similar circumstances.

A Settlement Agreement was approved and accepted by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners, whereby, Dr. Bazemore, by not contesting, agreed that an Order be entered finding that his pain management practices were inconsistent with the standard of care that should have been applied based upon the circumstances, and therfore tantamount to a violation of NRS 630.301(4). He shall be publicly reprimanded, and within one year of the acceptance of this agreement, he shall complete sixteen hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) regarding the prescribing of controlled substances for the management of pain, which are in addition to any CME requirements regularly imposed as a condition of his Nevada licensure, and he shall reimburse the Board the costs and expenses incurred during the investigation and prosecution of the matter in the amount of $4,050.92, within sixty (60) days of the date of entry of the Board's Order.
