The Investigative Committee of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners filed a formal complaint against James Allen, M.D.
following his criminal plea agreement with the United States Attorney's Office in December of 2005. Respondent plead guilty to one count of having knowingly possessed child pornography that had been transported in interstate or foreign, a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2252A(a)(5)(B). Respondent acknowledged and admitted to criminal conduct including downloading to his computer, images of child pornography while residing in Nevada, and during his relocation he transported those images to Florida, and continued to access and view websites containing child pornography. As such he is subject to discipline under NRS 630.301(11)(g), which provides that conviction of any offense involving moral turpitude is grounds for disciplinary action.

The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners entered its Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Order,
whereby James Allen, M.D. was found guilty of possession of child pornography
that had been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce, an offense
which constitutes moral turpitude, a violation of NRS 630.301(11)(g).
Respondent had pled guilty to and was convicted of one count of possession of child pornography that had been transported in interstate or
foreign commerce. The Board revoked Dr. Allen's license to practice
medicine in Nevada and ordered he be prohibited from reapplying for re-licensure as a physician in the
state of Nevada for a period of three years from the date of service of the
Order, pursuant top NAC 630.050(4). Dr. Allen was also ordered to
reimburse the Board all costs and expenses incurred in the investigation and prosecution of
the case against him.
